Life without plastic: one year on

Can you believe it's been an entire YEAR since I wrote My Month Without Plastic? Me neither. But it has, and a lot has changed in a year. Arguably, plastic pollution is worse than ever and yet we are more conscious of it now than we ever have been. We’ve seen plenty of images of turtles with…

My month without plastic

Plastics. They’re everywhere. Literally everywhere. Just looking around this minimalist café now I’d need more fingers and toes to count the amount of plastic items that I can see. Yet it’s now more apparent than ever how damaging they are to, not only our natural environments and wildlife, but also to our own health. So I…

Is it just me or does this lizard look like he's smiling? In my mind he's thinking about what he's going to have for lunch, when the next full moon is and what the Earth is going to look like in the next 5 years. 😂🌠🌙 What would you say he's thinking about with that smirking expression? #lizard #naturecapture #wildlifephotography #brazil #buzios #canonphotography

One of my most unexpected wildlife sightings! 😮 A 9-banded armadillo out in the open, during the day - this was a rare and incredible sighting because they're nocturnal animals so would ordinarily be burrowing at this time in the Pantanal 😊🍃 #armadillo #holidayarmadillo #thanksgiving #naturecapture #wildlifephotography #canoneos
A throwback to the first photo that I got in print! 😃 I'd had a horrible week & was ill at home on the sofa. @bbcwildlifemagazine came through the post & I remember flicking through before stopping and staring in shock at my photo staring back at me! 😍 it was an incredible feeling 🌠 And this is still one of my most memorable wildlife sightings - seeing the critically endangered southern ground hornbill for the first time, zooming further out on my camera lens as he came closer until I thought something was wrong with my camera as it wouldn't focus...I took the camera body away from my eye & found that it wouldn't focus because the incredible hornbill was right next to me!! Swipe to see just how close 😍🍃 #hornbill #southerngroundhornbill #criticallyendangered #birds #southafrica #wildlifephotographer #naturecapture
This photo of my spirit animal doesn't even look real but I love it 🐘 pure magic 🌈🍃🐘 #elephant #africanwildlife #naturephotographer
The tender side of vultures that's rarely ever shown! This photograph shows a flight-impaired Cape vulture feeding his offspring that will be released into the wild once he's old enough to take care of himself 🦅 #VulturesAccordingToJess #vultures #birdsofprey #birdsofsouthafrica #southafricannature #birder #vulpro #wildlifephotography #travelphotography
