With my ongoing project exploring insects as a food source, for our health and the planet’s, I’ve been doing a lot of research into current attitudes towards this food source in the Western world. Whilst it’s amazing to see more conversation, more companies developing insect-based food items and slightly more understanding around the benefits, I was yet to find recipes that I found appealing and exciting. So I decided to experiment and create my own!
I’m releasing a new insect-based recipe video every Thursday on my Instagram page. From cricket chocolate brownies to cricket lentil curry, I hope these videos will show the versatility of eating insects, and hope we can gradually introduce them to our diets by incorporating them into meals and desserts that we would ordinarily cook. Allowing us to add an environmentally-friendly protein source to our diets.
